A Message from the Courtyard Club

Greetings, dear readers! Today, we bring you the heartwarming tale of the Courtyard Club at Cedar High School, where a group of budding enthusiasts is turning their school’s middle courtyard space into a blooming sanctuary.

The Courtyard Club has a mission that goes beyond textbooks and exams. Their goal is to transform the small courtyard in the middle of the school into a haven of natural beauty, transcending the traditional classroom environment.

Last fall, the green-thumbed members of the Courtyard Club gathered for a monumental workday. Armed with shovels, hoses, and a plethora of pizza, they sowed the seeds of change by planting an array of vibrant flowers and plants. Lady Bug Nursery played a crucial role by providing an abundance of good soil, ensuring that the roots of their efforts would run deep.

In the spirit of community and growth, Mike Green emerged as a benevolent benefactor, generously donating funds for essential supplies and a variety of plants. The Courtyard Club expresses heartfelt gratitude to everyone who lent a hand in this blooming endeavor.

However, as the frost of winter gives way to the warmth of spring, the Courtyard Club faces a new challenge: the impending planting season. With the vision of turning the courtyard into a kaleidoscope of colors, they are reaching out to the families and friends of the community for support.

“As spring tiptoes closer, we’re gearing up to bring even more life to our little haven. But we can’t do it alone.” says Katelyn Green, the president of the Courtyard Club.

The Courtyard Club is inviting the community to join hands (and green thumbs) in their mission. Whether it’s contributing financially, sharing gardening expertise, offering precious time, or unearthing forgotten garden supplies from the depths of the shed, every contribution will be embraced with open arms and grateful hearts.

“We believe in the power of unity and growth,” adds Katelyn. “Your support will help us blossom into something truly extraordinary.”

So, dear readers, let’s rally around the Courtyard Club and nurture this beautiful initiative. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just a casual admirer of flowers, there’s a place for you in this botanical adventure. Let’s make Cedar High’s courtyard the talk of the town—a floral haven where the seeds of community, generosity, and laughter bloom into a garden full of joy.

Thank you for all the support!

The Reds were hoping to also win this tournament making them Circuit champions. Despite missing some of their high-scoring key performers this time around, Cedar placed 2nd for the Desert Hills Tournament and ended up in 2nd for the Circuit.

The Reds are hoping to bring back another win at the upcoming Moab tournament on December 16th and 17th.

The “Pub Club” is Born and Needs YOU

by Serenity Ringwood

The Publicity Club is an outlet for students to showcase their abilities and creativity, endeavoring to provide greater access to clubs to help share their talents and stories.

Have you ever wanted to be a journalist? The Publicity Club can help enhance your news writing and interviewing skills. Have you ever wanted to get your opinion out there? The Publicity Club displays thoughtful student issues involving the school and community. Have you ever wanted to share your pictures? The Publicity Club is actively seeking students with cameras. Adding on, the Publicity Club sees itself through other clubs and students; we’re here to help advertise events and enlist support for your clubs and charitable giving.

Of course, the Publicity Club didn’t start off guns blazing; we’re working our way towards a well-rounded club that can be an intermediary between students and informational news. After several months of ground work, the Publicity Club is happy to introduce our Cedar Paw Print, a news site for the students of Cedar High School. Slowly but surely, we are increasing members and our news coverage, so help us inform you and our community by spreading the word about Cedar High School’s much-needed newspaper.

We plan on writing about everything that goes on around the school such as student spotlights, the occasional teacher spotlight, and many other activities. These include sports, events, dances, and all of the other major, and minor, events.

The Paw Print wants to give a voice to students to express their opinions and promote student achievements all across the board. In the end, we want the community to know about the good at Cedar High – the good that includes you. Last but not least, if there are any suggestions for us such as who we should add to the list of spotlights we should do, you can fill out a Spotlight Form or contact a Publicity Club member. Thank you.
